Olympus Academy was founded in 2016 by educator Mrs. Akeisha Christie Wainwright with the vision of offering high-standard primary education centered around customized learning, cultural appreciation, and foundational leadership

• Community Impact: Over its first decade, the academy has focused on academic performance, spiritual growth, and social development, producing graduates who have gone on to become medical professionals, engineers, entrepreneurs, and educators.

The Founding Vision

• Core Philosophy: Mrs. Christie Wainwright established the academy to serve as a nurturing environment where "children are stars that make their dreams come true".
• Strategic Growth: Initially launched as a boutique preparatory school option in Montego Bay, the campus later settled at Bogue Industrial Estates to accommodate expanding facilities, modern co-curricular equipment, and specialized primary classrooms.

Educational Milestones & Academic Recognition

• PEP Scholarship Placements: Over its decade of operation, the academy established a strong record preparing students for Jamaica's standard Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exams. Graduates have repeatedly secured prestigious regional scholarship awards—such as the JN Bank Easi-Save County Scholarship for Cornwall—and won placements at top-tier secondary schools like Montego Bay High School for Girls and Jamaica College.
• Leadership Accolades: In July 2022, the founder and principal, Mrs. Akeisha Christie Wainwright, was officially awarded the UNICEF Child Friendly Schools Leadership Ambassador for Region 4, reinforcing the school's reputation for safe, community-focused educational leadership.
• Creative and Literary Footprint: In 2025, the principal expanded the institution's impact by launching Olympus Publishers, a student-centric project designed to teach academy children the foundational steps of writing, editing, and publishing their own books.

Overcoming Challenges and Community Resilience

• Environmental Disruption: In late 2025, the campus faced severe infrastructure damage caused by Hurricane Melissa. The academy’s history is deeply marked by the subsequent community response, where local families, international supporters, and administrative staff launched public fundraising drives to quickly rebuild and upgrade classroom resources.
• Decade Celebration: In June 2026, the school reached its historic 10th Anniversary. The milestone was officially commemorated on June 28, 2026, with an Alumni Anniversary Banquet & Dinner held at the Peter Hollis Lynch Multipurpose Hall in Westgate, highlighting ten years of generating business professionals, doctors, engineers, and teachers within Jamaica
